Camp Blaze: firecamp for young women

Next offered Summer of 2018

Camp Blaze is held every-other year in North Bend, Washington, at the Washington State Patrol Fire Training Academy. The week-long event is offered to young women who are ages 16-19 years old at the time of camp. The application process for camp will be open January of 2018.

Camp Blaze is made possible through generous donations, sponsorships, and grants. The staff of professional firefighters, volunteer firefighters, youth educators, and the countless volunteers from our community are entirely uncompensated for their time. Many find personal reward through the experience of influencing youth, and return year after year. Others who volunteer are a result of the expansion of the influence in our community which we continue to celebrate with each passing camp.

WOmen & Fire

September 2017

Opposite of the Camp Blaze year, the Women & Fire event hosts career and volunteer women firefighters for a two-day hands-on and collaboration training event. The instructors and participants are required to hold a IFSTA Firefighter I certification and provide proof of SCBA fit-testing compliance. The goal of Women & Fire is to offer professional development opportunities and provide an environment for networking and collaboration. This event provides an introduction to the Camp Blaze culture.
