Our Board of Directors
Alissa began her fire service career with the San Francisco Fire Department in 1997. She is one of the founding members of the Camp Blaze organization, and is a vital resource to our historical legacy. Her undergraduate degree is from Wesleyan University in Connecticut, and she continued with master’s level work in Organizational Development.
Although currently retired from the fire service, Alissa considers it an honor to continue her commitment to Camp Blaze as the current President of the Board of Directors. When not devoting her time to Camp Blaze, she enjoys reading, swimming, running, cooking and traveling to visit friends and family.
Erin has been in the EMS and fire service for over fourteen years, currently working as a firefighter/paramedic. She joined Camp Blaze in 2007 and has served in different roles each camp, including Crew Leader, Logistics Director, and Instructor. Outside of the organization she hold degrees in Paramedicine, Fire Science, and Fire Administration. With a certificate in Union Administration, Erin has served in leadership positions within the International Association of Firefighters.
As an outdoor enthusiast she finds herself often seeking adventure in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. In her free time, she enjoys camping with her family, rock climbing, snowboarding, playing soccer, and painting.
Jenn is the Emergency Manager for a private sector mental health organization. She has been working in crisis/emergency management and response for 15 years. Her day-to-day always includes working in high-pressure situations, managing and coordinating the response to human-caused crises, and preparing her company for worst-case scenarios. Jenn is also a trainer, designing evidence-based trainings and exercises, rooted in research and results, and has established standard operating procedures and training plans for companies around the region.
Jenn loves summer camps! She began working with Camp Blaze in 2016 and brings both the tenents of Emergency and Disaster Management and the understanding of mental health and how humans respond under pressure and in the face of disaster.
Dawn hails from Southern California, and comes to Camp Blaze with 30+ years' experience in office administration and project management. She holds a PhD in Business Administration with an emphasis in Organization and Management, and relishes her role as onsite IT Director for Camp Blaze.
"Dr. Dawn" is married to an LAFD Battalion Chief, and has been instrumental in using her administrative skills to help establish on-going fire department girls' camps within the greater Los Angeles area. She has been a volunteer at Camp Blaze since 2016 and is a passionate supporter of Camp Blaze's vision.
Austen has a nearly 10 year history in the fire service as a volunteer, part-paid, and a career firefighter/EMT. She currently works as a Physical Therapist in private practice and as a Firefighter for the Port of Seattle.
Austen began working with Camp Blaze in 2016 and brings financial experience to the board. Outside of the fire service, Austen is an avid traveler, scuba diver, and a professional football player with the Everett Reign.
Lieutenant Bridget Humphrey is currently assigned to Seattle Fire Department’s Services Division, and has been a career firefighter since 1995. Bridget has been an enthusiastic supporter of Camp Blaze and a participant since 2000, where her roles have included instructor of fire behavior, volunteer coordinator, liaison with the Seattle Fire Department, and logistics.
Bridget is a graduate of Tucson High School and Whitman College (B.A. Psychology). She has relied on her childhood experiences in the Girl Scouts of America throughout her career in the fire service and at Camp Blaze.
Amina Saleh is a Firefighter/HazMat Technician at Seattle Fire Station 10. She began her career as a firefighter at South Kitsap Fire & Rescue in 2009, and soon after, made the move to the Seattle Fire Department to work for the city where she grew up. Amina graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Gender & Leadership Studies. In her spare time, she loves to train in CrossFit, stand up paddle board, nap, and drink lots of coffee.
Amina attended Camp Blaze as a camper in 2003 and has not missed a camp since. She is passionate about being a part of Camp Blaze because she knows how powerful the impact of camp can be and she wants to share that with anyone who attends.
Crystal has been a career Firefighter/EMT for Lacey Fire District 3 since 2008 and joined Camp Blaze in 2014. She is a Water Rescue Specialist, currently assigned to Engine 35.
Crystal served four years of active duty in the United States Navy as a Gunner’s Mate. In 2016, she received a Master’s Degree from Gonzaga University. She is married with two kids.
